In last article, I mentioned that how endless and complicated it was to rebuild kung fu school. During the all one and half month, the focus of our live was all about kung fu school. The conversations between Michael and I were all like, did you call someone? Does someone call you back? Do you complete the advertisement? Do we forget something to do or someone to meet? Do we have enough, should we go to but again?
Things like that. Notwithstanding our own school, we were weary.
It is so magical, when all the long wait and preparation come to the last minute, it makes me to hold the breath. It makes things eager and anxious. It is just like waiting the curtain on the stage to open, it makes people nerves. People crane the neck to look forward.
One day before the opening party, in the afternoon, when everything was ready, I stood inside the quiet, empty room. The CD player was playing a piano melody, was clear, slow such as a small river. The weather was not good, and the sky was dim. I wore a pair of socks, walked to light a lamp. Everything was exactly fine, the music, the tint, and my heartbeat.
I glanced at the photos on the wall, the Buddhist statue, and the colors and patterns beside me. I stood firm and was agitated. It was not that kind of frenzied feeling. It is similar to drink mouthful warm water in wintertime. You feel like sweet taste behind the root of tongue. The body can feel something slight, but it is not easy to explain with words to other person.
Finally, something is finished, an appearance of school that we try to reform and present, it is like this. Mostly, people believe the kung fu school is just more brave than wise, is rough and boorish. Besides the economical condition of community is despairing, we try to adjust the management of business. Nevertheless, we never change our zeal for Chinese martial art, kung fu. We hope we can present our school with a space of civil, and military, with a style of fluid and static.
Here I touched each wall, drew with brushes with my passion, with mu eyes and fingers to piece together our concept of Martial Arts.
Suddenly, all the things stopped, from beginning until the end. I was there in this room; the piano music was as the river flowed. The sunset that was already dim went down. Michael came to me from the back and held my shoulders, he said thank you to me.
